Jan. 12: Taking the latest shot in NBC's late-night TV battle, Conan O'Brien released a statement Tuesday refusing a "Tonight Show" move to a 12:05 a.m. time slot, saying the shift would amount to the "destruction" of the show's legacy. NBC's George Lewis reports. (Nightly News)For most regular working stiffs, a public appeal such as Conan O’Brien’s unusual resignation letter is seen as a universal career no-no.
