The CBS News Internship Program offers college students an opportunity to learn more about the industry if they are interested in pursuing a career in Journalism, Broadcasting or Communication.
Students do not choose a show and internship assignments are made directly by the coordinator.

Responsibilities:
Since no two internships are alike, students will be assigned duties based on the show they are working for. Typical assignments may include logging tapes, coordinating scripts, researching stories, conducting preliminary interviews, assisting during shoots, selecting footage, performing light clerical duties, and assisting staff members.
Eligibility:
Students must be attending an accredited college and have achieved junior or senior status. Students majoring in jounalism, broadcasting or communications are preferred but other majors will be considered for the program. Seeking candidates with good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. Students must receive credit from their academic institution to be able to participate in the program.

Fall and spring applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. The deadline to apply for the summer program is Feb. 28 of each year.

The RISE Summer Internship Program offers unique opportunities in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering to undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK. The program runs from 1.5 - 3 months and is located in Germany.
RISE interns are matched with doctoral students who will also act as mentors. The program offers opportunities for undergraduate students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany.
Benefits:
Scholarship recipients will receive stipends from
the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to help cover living expenses and partner universities and research institutes provide assistance with housing.

DAAD provides a monthly scholarship of Euro 650 for a period spanning 6 weeks to 3 months (pro-rated depending on length of stay) between the middle of May and August. Health insurance is also provided along with accident and personal/private liability insurance. Students will be given assistance in finding housing through the host institution. The scholarship does not cover international travel costs.

INTERNSHIP PICK OF THE WEEK The North Carolina State Government Internship ProgramThe North Carolina State Government Internship Program is celebrating its 40th year. The program offers opportunities in a variety of government agencies across the state for undergraduate, graduate and students currently attending law school. This internship program creates a bridge between academic life and the real world. The internship program was designed to teach students about career options and the reality of working in public service.
Internship Description:
Students work full-time (40 hours per week) for a 10-week period over the course of the summer.
Benefits:
Student interns are paid $8.25 per hour. Students get first-hand exposure to working in state government.

INTERNSHIP PICK OF THE WEEK Office of the Attorney GeneralThe Office of the Attorney General Internship Program (OAG) for the District of Columbia (OAG) hires undergraduate and graduate students to work as volunteers during the academic year as well as during the summer. Interns participating in the OAG Program are given first-hand exposure to what it's like working in public service. A diverse group of students are selected each year to participate in the program.
Interns get an opportunity to work alongside professionals in the field and are able to participate in doing legal research, motions, advice memos, discovery, trial, and/or administrative tasks pertinent to the office. Interns can also assist attorneys at trial or while working in a hearing, selecting jurors, or in making opening statements. These are just a few of the exciting tasks that take place while working in the OAG Office.
Interns get an opportunity to develop their legal writing and research skills and will learn how to apply the various federal, state, and common laws to court cases. The Office of the Attorney General is made up of ten (10) major divisions with specialty sections as well as many programs that meet the needs of a wide variety of students.
The Summer Associates Program is for first and second year law students.
Qualifications:
The Internship Program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students who are in good academic standing while the Summer Associate Program is open to first and second year law school students. Selection is based on scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and interest in the students specific area of concentration. Each internship is tailored to each student's needs, interests, and schedule.
