Is Your Nonprofit Losing Out to Haiti?
With the spotlight on Haiti for the past several weeks, your
nonprofit's fundraising might be standing in the corner with an
empty dance card. Should you try to be gracious and await your

Eric Foley, of Transformational Giving, tackles this conundrum in
his post, Are donors diverting their money from your
nonprofit/cause to Haiti? Foley offers some do's and don'ts if you
find your organization in this situation. They include: Don't write
your donors and draw a comparison between Haiti and your own needs.

How to Handle End of Year Tax Receipts for Your Donors

Justin Wandro of the blog, Nonprofit Success, has clearly explained
how to make those tax receipts for your donors another step in the
thank you and cultivation process. Even though you've likely sent a
receipt right after getting a donation, there nothing wrong with
sending a year end summary to the donor as well. Wandro says that
summary should meet IRS requirements and also connect with the
donor. Read Wandro's excellent instructions about how to do that.

practical advice about how to do those chores in your office that
should be routine but actually bug us a lot...mail merge,
